Grasshopper Ladybug Facades

Dia17.JPG

In order to learn how to use the Ladybug plug-in in Rhinoceros Grasshopper, I had to design two facades during my Master course.

The first one is a static facade. I analyzed this surface as a tower. It would work with any other geometry. I visualized the number of hours when the sunshine is harmful annually, in another word when the building needs cooling inside. With this information, I was able to design this algorithm which creates a facade that increases its density as the harmful sunlight hours increase.

The second one is a kinetic facade. In this case, I analyzed the sun path. Similarly, it works on any other geometry. The triangular panels close when harmful sunlight hits them.
